WELCOME TO ALEXIS VFD

Alexis Fire Department is a combination department, protecting approximately 40 square miles and operating out of two stations. The main station is located on Highway 27 in Alexis, NC and our substation is located on Old Plank Road in Iron Station, NC. Our membership is comprised of 45 personnel, most of which are volunteer. Along with the traditional responsibilities of a fire department we also are certified in medical and heavy rescue response, and respond to incidents as such. Since our inception 50 years ago, each member of the department proudly accepts the responsibility the department has to the citizens of the Alexis Fire District, to provide the best fire protection, emergency medical, and rescue services.

BASE #2 RESPONDS MUTUAL AID TO ASSIST DENVER FD (LINCOLN CO)

Sunday, October 17, 2010 01:15  Engine 203 responded to assist Denver Fire Department for a reported structure fire on Saint James Church Rd. Denver Engine 14 arrived to find a residence fully involved. Engine's 11, 13, Rescue 10, and Ladder 10 arrived shortly after for water supply and manpower. Engine 203 arrived along with East Lincoln Engine's 30 and 33. Alexis 's crew stood by with manpower and supplied Engine 14 with a load of water. East Lincoln and Alexis cleared around 02:00. There were no injuries reported.

   


 

TRUCK VS TREE ON OLD PLANK RD ( LINCOLN CO.)

Monday, October 4, 2010 08:02 Engine 201 responded to Old Plank Rd and Sigmon Farms Rd for a reported MVA. Engine 201 arrived to find a truck that had struck a tree. All patients were out of the vehicle on 201's arrival. One patient was transported to LCMC with minor injuries

     

 

ENGINE 200 ASSISTS BOGER CITY WITH FATAL STRUCTURE FIRE

Thursday, September 23, 2010 06:05 Engine 200 responded to assist Boger City with a reported double-wide mobile home on fire in the 1000 Shady Retreat LN. Engine 42 arrived to find the structure fully involved. Engine 200 arrived and supplied water and manpower. EMS treated a resident that made it out of the structure. One subject perished in the fire.  Alexis units remained on the scene with salvage and overhaul operations until11:38

     



 

VEHICLE OVERTURNED ON GREEN RD ( GASTON CO )

Wednesday, September 15, 2010 15:15   Engine 201 and 208 responded to a reported MVA with a possible pin-in on Green Rd near Stanfield Dr. Engine 201 and 208  arrived to find a overturned SUV with one patient still  inside the vehicle. Engine 201's crew stabilized the vehicle for extrication and sent a firefighter inside the vehicle to assess the patient. Engine 201's crew opened the door without any use of the extrication tools. Patient wasn't pinned or entrapped and was removed,  packaged and  transported to the landing zone to be flow out buy  Med-Center Air. Engine 200 and Stanley FD set up the LZ at Hwy 27 and Airport Rd. All units were clear at 18:00 hrs. Other agencies that responded were GEMS, Stanley Rescue, Gaston County Police, and NCSHP

ENGINE 203 AND TANKER 204 ASSISTS PUMPKIN CENTER ON WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE

Sunday, September 5, 2010 00:40  Engine 203 and Tanker 204 responded mutual aid to assist Pumpkin Center VFD with a reported structure fire in the 5300 block of Christopher LN. Engine 203 arrived with Engine 110 to find a two car garage fully involved. Engine 203's crew assisted with fire attack and salvage on overhaul operations. Tanker 204 supplied units with water. Alexis units were clear at 02:11

   


 

TANKER 204 RESPONDS MUTUAL AID FOR EAST GASTON'S WORKING HOUSE FIRE

Monday, August 30, 2010 23:36   Tanker 204 responded to assist station 30 ( East Gaston ) with a reported house fire on Spratt Dr off Old NC 27. EG Engine 300 arrived on the scene to find a fully involved structure fire. Engine 303 arrived along with 204 and supplied the engine companies. A second alarm was struck bringing tankers from Community and Spencer Mt. Mt. Holly FD was dispatched for manpower. Alexis Firefighters assisted with attack and salvage and overhaul operations.  Tanker 204 cleared the scene at 04:00 hrs. The Gaston County Fire Marshal's Office was called out to investigate the cause of the fire.

WORKING TRUCK FIRE ON LITTLE MOUNTAIN RD. (LINCOLN CO)

Monday, August 23, 2010 09:50  Engine's 201 and 203 responded to a reported vehicle fire threatening a structure on Little Mountain Rd off Sadler Rd. Engine 201 arrived to find a Ford F-150 fully involved. Engine 201 protected exposures and make quick work of the fire. The owner had backed the truck away from the residence as far as possible. Engine 203 arrived and assisted with manpower. Alexis units were clear at 10:30

LIGHTNING STRIKES LAWING MARBLE COMPANY ( LINCOLN CO. )

Tuesday, July 27, 2010 17:15  Just as a severe thunder storm rolled through the area, Engine 203 and Tanker 204 responded mutual aid to assist Boger City Fd with a lightning strike to a structure at the Lawing Marble Company on East Hwy 27 near McMillan Heights Dr.  BC Engine 42 arrived and reported a working fire in the attic area.  BC Engine 41 arrived and reversed laid 1000 ft of 5 inch supply line to the hydrant. Engine 203 arrived with 3 personnel and assisted with the fire attack. Lincolnton Ladder 1 arrived and set up on the B side of the structure. South Fork Engine 74 arrived and assisted with manpower. After an interior attack on the fire, the operation turned to a defensive mode. A second alarm was sounded and with that brought Tankers from Alexis, Pumpkin Center and North 321 VFD's. Engine 203 set up a draft from Tanker 204's drop tank to give Engine 42 an additional water supply. The building was a total loss. There were no injuries reported.
