WELCOME TO ALEXIS VFD

Alexis Fire Department is a combination department, protecting approximately 40 square miles and operating out of two stations. The main station is located on Highway 27 in Alexis, NC and our substation is located on Old Plank Road in Iron Station, NC. Our membership is comprised of 45 personnel, most of which are volunteer. Along with the traditional responsibilities of a fire department we also are certified in medical and heavy rescue response, and respond to incidents as such. Since our inception 50 years ago, each member of the department proudly accepts the responsibility the department has to the citizens of the Alexis Fire District, to provide the best fire protection, emergency medical, and rescue services.

VEHICLE VS TREE ( LINCOLN CO)

Monday, June 11, 2012    Engine 203 and Engine 201 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Old Plank Rd near Sigmon Farms. Engine 203 arrived to find a single vehicle accident, vehicle struck a tree, with heavy damage. There was a total of three patients. None one was pinned or entrapped. All three were transported to LCMC. Alexis units stayed on the scene till SHP arrived and cleared.

   


 

OVERTURNED VEHICLE ON MARIPOSA RD ( GASTON CO )

Saturday, April 28, 2012 10:09  Engine 201 and QRV 208 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with vehicle overturned. Alexis 2006 ( Capt Royster) arrived to find a single vehicle overturned in the woods. The driver was out of the vehicle walking around when he arrived. Engine 201 and 208 arrived and stood by till SHP arrived and the vehicle was pulled out of the woods.  The patient was treated on the scene by GEMS.

     



 

AFTERNOON STRUCTURE FIRE ON MARIPOSA RD ( LINCOLN CO MAIN )

Sunday, April 22, 2012 16:38     Engine 201, 203, 200, and Tanker 204 responded to a possible structure fire on Mariposa Rd near Alba Mill Rd. Engine 201 arrived to find  a double wide mobile home with heavy smoke and fire showing. Engine 201's crew made an interior attack into the kitchen area and knocked the fire down. Engine 203 and East Lincoln Engine 33 arrived and pulled a back up line, made a primary and secondary search, and assisted with overhaul operations. Tanker 204 arrived and supplied water while Engine 200 and Lucia Riverbend Tanker 314 arrived and they supplied manpower. Units remained on the scene for about two hours putting out hot spots and salvaging what they could for the homeowners. 

     



 

FATAL WRECK ON BREVARD PLACE RD ( LINCOLN CO)

Friday, April 20, 2012 18:08   Engine 201 and brush 207 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident, vehicle overturned. 207 arrived to find a truck on its side with one subject trapped inside. Engine 201 arrived and started extrication and EMS assessed the patient and confirmed the patient had succumb to their injuries. Alexis units remained on the scene for about an hour assisting EMS.

     



 

WORKING HOUSE FIRE ON GREEN RD ( GASTON CO )

Monday, April 16, 2012 20:41   With in an hour of Alexis units being dispatched to a structure fire on Antler Dr, we were dispatched to another structure fire on Green Rd in our Gaston County first due area. Alexis Car 20 arrived on the scene to find a single story wood frame structure with heavy fire and smoke showing from the attic area on the C / D sides of the structure and  established Alexis command.  East Gaston Engine 303 and 309 arrived on scene first and started a interior attack by pulling ceilings to make access to the attic to extinguish  the fire. Stanley, East Lincoln, and Alexis Tanker 204 arrived after freeing up from the other fire. Primary and secondary searches were completed and were negative. Lucia Riverbend and Spencer Mt arrived and assisted with the extensive salvage and overhaul operations that were conducted. The fire was brought under control at 21:10.

   


 

STRUCTURE FIRE ANTLER DR ( LINCOLN CO BASE #2)

Monday, April 16, 2012 19:47    Engine 200, 201, 203, and Tanker 204 responded to a reported structure fire on Antler Dr off Mt Zion Church Rd. Engine 203 arrived and found a double wide mobile home with fire showing through the roof on the D side. Engine 203 laid a line in and started an interior attack. Nobody was at home at the time of the fire. The fire was confined to the kitchen and roof areas. Lincoln County Fire Marshals office was called in to investigate.. Denver and East Lincoln Fire Department also responded to assist.  

   


 

MOBILE HOME FIRE WITH BOGER CITY (LINCOLN CO)

Sunday, April 15, 2012 22:50   Engine 200 responded to assist Boger City with a working mobile home fire  on Southmont Rd in Iron Station. Engine 41 arrived and found the structure about 50% involved. Engine 200 laid a supply line in to Engine 41 and assisted their crew with interior fire attack. South Fork VFD also responded to assist.

   


 

HEAD ON COLLISION (GASTON CO)

Tuesday, April 3, 2012    Engine's 201,203, and QRV 208 responded to a reported MVA on Mariposa Rd at Alexis - Lucia Rd. Engine 201 arrived on the scene to find a two car MVA, head on collision. All patients were out of the vehicle and was transported to GMH with minor injuries. Alexis units stayed on scene to assist with traffic control and was cleared by SHP when they arrived.

     



 

CAR IN DITCH ( GASTON CO)

Wednesday, March 21, 2012    Alexis units responded to a MVA with unknown injuries in the 200 block of Mariposa Rd. Engine 201 arrived and found one vehicle off the roadway. The car had ran into a ditch and spun into a driveway. The driver was still sitting in the vehicle but was not injured and refused treatment. 203 and 208 were canceled and all units cleared the scene when SHP arrived.

     



 

SINGLE CAR ACCIDENT ON NARROW GAUGE ( GASTON CO )

Friday, March 16, 2012    Engine 201 and 203 responded to a reported MVA on Narrow Gauge Rd at Graham Lutz Rd. Engine 201 arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle accident with heavy damage to the passenger side of the car.  The vehicle was traveling toward Philadelphia Church Rd when it ran off the roadway and collided with a brick mailbox. There were two patient in the vehicle, but was not pinned or entrapped. Both patients were removed from the vehicle and transported emergency traffic to GMH where one was flew to CMC. Engine 203 cleared the scene while 201 remained on the scene with SHP.
