WELCOME TO ALEXIS VFD

Alexis Fire Department is a combination department, protecting approximately 40 square miles and operating out of two stations. The main station is located on Highway 27 in Alexis, NC and our substation is located on Old Plank Road in Iron Station, NC. Our membership is comprised of 45 personnel, most of which are volunteer. Along with the traditional responsibilities of a fire department we also are certified in medical and heavy rescue response, and respond to incidents as such. Since our inception 50 years ago, each member of the department proudly accepts the responsibility the department has to the citizens of the Alexis Fire District, to provide the best fire protection, emergency medical, and rescue services.

VEHICLE JUMPS RAILROAD TRACKS IN IRON STATION (LINCOLN CO)

Thursday, November 17, 2011  Engine 201, Engine 203, and Car 200 responded to Hwy 27 and Blueberry Ln for a reported MVA with injuries. Engine 201 and Car 200 arrived to find a single car accident with two patients. The vehicle was traveling on Rhyne Forest Dr, crossed Hwy 27 onto the  rail road tracks, jumped the tracks and landed in the front yard of a residence on Blueberry Ln. Engine 201 canceled Engine 203 and had them standby at the main station.. Car 200 arrived assumed command and Engine 201's crew placed patients in spinal protocol. LCEMS transported two with injuries.

     



 

VEHICLE OVERTURNED ON MT ZION CHURCH RD ( LINCOLN CO )

Monday, November 14, 2011  Engine 201 responded to a single car accident on Mt Zion Church Rd , just inside Lincoln Co in our first due area. Engine 201 arrived  to find a SUV on its side. The driver was out of the vehicle and had minor injuries. Alexis units stood by to assist with traffic control till released by SHP.

     



 

VEHICLE CRASHES INTO BACK OF PARKED LOGGING TRUCK ( GASTON COUNTY )

Tuesday, November 8, 2011  Engine 201, Car 20 , and Truck 208 responded to a reported two car MVA on Charlotte St near Maplewood Dr. Engine 201 and Car 20 arrived to find a passenger car had run into the back of a parked logging truck  on the side of the road. The driver of the vehicle was transported to GMH and no one was in the truck. We stood by till SHP arrived and cleared.

   


 

OVERTURNED VEHICLE ON CHARLOTTE ST ( GASTON COUNTY )

Friday, October 28, 2011   Engine's 200 and 203 responded to a reported two car MVA with one overturned. Engine 200 arrived and found a two car accident with one overturned on the side of the roadway. The patients of both vehicles wasn't around the vehicles. Engine 203 arrived and set up the light tower to light up the scene. The patients were later located at a residence on Charlotte St. They were taken to GMH with minor injuries.

     



 

VEHICLE OVERTURNED ON MARIPOSA RD AT AIRPORT RD ( GASTON COUNTY )

Thursday, October 27, 2011    Engine 200 responded to a single car accident on Mariposa Rd near the intersection of Airport Rd. Engine 200 arrived to find a vehicle overturned and the driver was out and uninjured. We stood by for SHP and cleared the scene.

   


 

OVERTURNED VEHICLE ON GREEN RD ( GASTON COUNTY )

Saturday, October 8, 2011    Engine 201 responded to a reported MVA with a possible entrapment. Engine 201 arrived to find a vehicle overturned with the driver still inside. Engine 201's crew opened the passengers side door and placed the driver in spinal protocol. The driver was not entrapped and was transported to GMH emergency traffic

     



 

ROLLOVER WITH ENTRAPPMENT ON MT ZION CHURCH RD ( GASTON CO )

Thursday, September 8, 2011   Engine's 201 and 203 responded to the intersection of Mt. Zion Church Rd and Alexis Lucia Rd for a reported overturned vehicle with entrapment. Engine 201 arrived to find a jeep that had overturned twice and came to rest upright. One patient was entrapped. Engine 201's crew popped the drivers side door and placed the patient in spinal protocol. GEMS transported the patient to GMH non emergency with minor injuries. Alexis units were on scene for about 45 minutes.

     



 

TAN204KER RESPONDS TO WORKING HOUSE FIRE IN MT. HOLLY

Sunday, September 4, 2011 12:47 Tanker 204 responded to assist Station 34 ( Mt. Holly ) with a 4000 square foot house fire on White Rock Dr in the Stonewater Bay Sub Division. Smoke could been seen from miles away. First arriving Engine reported heavy fire and smoke showing. Several department were dispatched to assist along with the Northern Tanker Task Force in Gaston County.

     



 

200 RESPONDS MUTUAL AID FOR STANLEY FIRE WITH WORKING HOUSE FIRE

Wednesday, August 31, 2011 01:39  Engine 200 responded to assist Stanley Fire Department with a reported house fire on Rhyne St in Stanley. Stanley Engine 223 arrived and found heavy fire showing  from the front of the structure. Engine 200 arrived and assisted with interior fire attack. All subjects were out of the structure. The fire was under control in 10 minutes of the first Engines arrival. Units remained on the scene and assisted with salvage and overhaul.  Engine 200 was back in service at 3 am.

     



 

WORKING TRUCK FIRE ON HOVIS RD

Saturday, August 13, 2011 19:33 Engine 201 and Car 20 responded to the 700 Block of Hovis Rd for a reported truck on fire. Engine 201 arrived to find a Ford F-150 with heavy fire in the engine compartment. The crew of Engine 201 made a quick knock down of the fire and was brought under control with in 5 minutes.
