WELCOME TO ALEXIS VFD

Alexis Fire Department is a combination department, protecting approximately 40 square miles and operating out of two stations. The main station is located on Highway 27 in Alexis, NC and our substation is located on Old Plank Road in Iron Station, NC. Our membership is comprised of 45 personnel, most of which are volunteer. Along with the traditional responsibilities of a fire department we also are certified in medical and heavy rescue response, and respond to incidents as such. Since our inception 50 years ago, each member of the department proudly accepts the responsibility the department has to the citizens of the Alexis Fire District, to provide the best fire protection, emergency medical, and rescue services.

Thursday, March 6, 2014  When you set your clock ahead Saturday night/Sunday morning, make sure to change the batteries in EVERY smoke detector in your home. A working smoke detector is a homeowners first defense in case of a house fire. Think Safe, Stay Safe!

   


 

ENGINE 203 RESPONDS TO ASSIST EAST LINCOLN WITH STRUCTURE FIRE (LINCOLN CO)

Wednesday, February 26, 2014 02:11:36   Engine 203 (Base #2) responded to assist East Lincoln Fire with a reported structure fire on Magnet Ln off Old Plank Rd. East Lincoln units arrived and found the residence fully involved. A defensive attack was made on the fire. Engine 203 arrived and provided water. There was no injuries reported and the residence was a total loss. Lucia Riverbend Fire Department also assisted with Tanker 314. Engine 203 was back in service at 04:04.

     



 

WINTER STORM ON THE WAY

Monday, February 10, 2014 13:00 Alexis and the surrounding areas are under a Winter Storm Watch from 6 am Tuesday (2-11-14) until 7 am Thursday (2-13-14). The area COULD see between 3 and 6 inches of snow. If you don't have to travel during that time, please stay off the roads. If travel is necessary, reduce speed, leave early, and allow plenty of extra time to arrive at your destination.


     



 

BRUSH 206 IN SERVICE

Saturday, February 1, 2014   Brush 206 has been placed into service!  Brush 206 , former Brush 637  of the Dallas Fire Department (NC),  will run out of Base #2 located on Old Plank Rd in our Lincoln County first due response area.

     



 

ENGINE 200 RESPONDS MUTUAL AID FOR BOGER CITY HOUSE FIRE

Friday, January 31, 2014 19:34   Engine 200 responded to assist Boger City Fire with a reported structure fire on Mt Vernon Church Rd.  Engine 40 (BC) arrived to find a single story wood frame structure with heavy smoke and fire showing. Engine 200 arrived and assisted with water supply and manpower. The fire was brought under control quickly. T-209 also responded with manpower and Engine 74 from South Fork VFD also responded. Alexis units were back in service at 21:00

   


 

ASSIST LUCIA-RIVERBEND WITH MOBILE HOME FIRE (GASTON)

Friday, January 31, 2014 05:02   Engine 200 and Tanker 204 responded to assist Lucia with a reported mobile home on fire. Lucia Engine 311 arrived to find a double-wide fully involved. Engine 200 and Tanker 204 arrived and supplied water and manpower. Firefighters battled the cold also with the temp around 10 degrees. Multiple department were dispatched to assist with salvage and overhaul operations. The structure was a total loss. All occupants were out of the structure and were transported to the hospital by GEMS. Alexis units were back in service at 12:04

     



 

MOBILE HOME FIRE ON SANTE FE TRAIL

Tuesday, January 21, 2014 09:55  Engine 's 201, 203 and Tanker 204 responded to a reported structure fire on Sante Fe Trail off Orchard Rd in Base 1's first due area. Engine 201 arrived to find a single wide mobile home with heavy smoke and flames showing. Engine 201 dropped 600 feet of supply line down a driveway to the fire. Tanker 204 hooked up tight to the supply line for water supply. Engine 201's crew made an interior attack along with personnel from East Lincoln and Boger City. Primary search was negative, and no injuries were reported. While salvage and overhaul operations were being conducted, Command called for the Lincoln County Fire Marshall's to respond. Alexis was assisted by East Lincoln and Boger City fire Departments. All companies was back in service at 1300 hours.

   
 

New Years MVA (Lincoln County)

Wednesday, January 1, 2014  At 10 minutes after midnight on new years day, Station 20 & LCEMS were dispatched to a report of a possible MVA with injuries in the 500 block of Brevard Place Road. Engine-201, Car-200 & Medic arrived on scene, advised 1 car off the road moderate to heavy damage. Patients were in the care of EMS,  Engine-201 removed all debris from the roadway and awaited the arrival of SHP. All 20 units clear and inservice @ 00:41  

     

 

Vehicle Fire (Lincoln County)

Saturday, November 23, 2013   Around 1800 hrs Station 20 was dispatched to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Mt. Zion Church Road & Silver Lane. Engine 203 & Engine 201 responded. E-203 arrived on scene and advised we had a working lawnmower fire with a small grass fire. Flames were brought under control by Engine 203's crew just minutes after their arrival on scene. All other units were returned to service and Engine 203 cleared @ 18:30

     



 

Woods Fire On Orchard Road (Lincoln County)

Monday, November 18, 2013  On the afternoon of 11-18-2013 Station 20 was dispatched to large woods fire in the area of Orchard Road & Colby Lane. Brush 207, Engine 203, and Tanker 204 responded from Alexis. Brush 207 arrived on scene and advised that we had about 1 acre of woods on fire, at this time we dispatched Boger City FD Station 4 to assist us with Brush 45 & Engine 42. Fire was brought under control within 20 minutes from our initial arrival on scene. Thanks for the help Station 4!
